Belle Haven’s history stretches back to the late 1800s and is known for being one of the first luxurious residential communities. Over a century later, resort-like mansions and magazine-worthy estates celebrate its history. 

Homes here vary widely in architectural design. Including Federal Colonial estates, European-style villas, and Modern farmhouses. Many with private waterfronts. 

Outdoor living is celebrated here with exteriors that showcase professionally groomed lawns and gardens. Many homes have private docks, Belgium-block circular driveways (Meadow Wood Dr. ), in-ground pools, tennis courts, and professionally installed half-basketball courts.

Family Friendly Clubs

Belle Haven is also pedestrian-friendly. Sidewalks line the neighborhood making it easy for those who like to stroll the postcard-perfect streets. Many in Belle Haven can walk to the Belle Haven Club. While the club and the neighborhood are separate entities, both are known for their family-friendly lifestyle. 

This private club is known for its unparalleled facilities, including a clubhouse with casual, yet delicious dining experiences, superior tennis facilities on the only clay court around, a wonderful pool adjacent to a beach facility, and a lovely harbor. There are multiple opportunities for enjoying all sorts of sports and entertainment, no matter what your age.

Shopping & Commuting

Belle Haven has another geographic perk: its location is close to Greenwich’s many upscale amenities. Just minutes from downtown Greenwich, residents can access the ever-popular Greenwich Avenue. Connecticut’s own Rodeo Drive, Greenwich Avenue is home to premier, flagship stores and posh boutiques. 

Upscale restaurants that offer the best of fine and casual dining line the avenue. Greenwich Avenue is often packed with shoppers who come from all over to enjoy its luxurious shopping and dining experiences. 

At the bottom of Greenwich Avenue is the Greenwich train station. Getting to this train station from Belle Haven is anywhere between 2 and 6 minutes. And, the commute to Grand Central Station is 44 minutes.

If you are planning to drive to work, I95 is a very short drive from the Belle Haven community.

Parks & Museums

Minutes from Belle Haven, you will also find Bruce Park. Greenwich has many great parks, but Bruce Park stands amongst its best with its expansive paths, ponds, and playground, it is a favorite of local residents. Bruce Park also hosts the Bruce Museum, which is a world-class museum that brings together art, science, and natural history. 

Schools & Places To Stay

School assignments in Greenwich are based on specific addresses. If you live in the Belle Haven neighborhood, your elementary-age children will likely attend the Julian Curtiss School, while middle schoolers will likely go to Central Middle School.
