Weston can be a great option, but you know what, it isn't for everyone. Today we are going to cover the pros and cons of living in Weston so that you can decide if it's a fit for you. Let's go.

Hi, if you’re new to the channel my name is Charlie Vinci and I’m a local realtor, and my family and I have been in the area for 5 generations. All of the information that I mention below is available right here. If you are seriously considering living in Weston, you have got to go check it out.

Table of Contents

Proximity to Westport

One of the main reasons that our clients choose to explore Weston is its proximity to Westport. If you choose to live in the southern part of Weston, you're not more than about 5 to 10 minutes from the Westport in-town area, and all of its great restaurants and shopping.

You may appreciate the proximity to in-town Westport, because there isn't much going on in Weston. If you would like to know more about everything that Weston does offer, check out our Weston neighborhood tour.

Weston Amenities

If you don't feel like traveling to Westport, you do have a small village area near the Weston school complex that has everything you need on a daily basis like a grocery store, pharmacy and post office.

And, If you are in the northern part of town, check out the Georgetown village area for a few great restaurants, a grocery store and more.

If you love privacy and a small town feel, you may find Weston to be an excellent match with its larger lots and abundance of trees. Much of Weston has quite a bit of topography. It creates some stunning beauty to the landscape. but It also means that the roads can be windy and steep, so when snow comes you will want to be sure to have a 4 wheel drive, and most will choose to stay indoors until the storm is over and the roads cleared and salted.

School Complex

Another thing that many of our clients like about Weston is the school complex. There are 4 school levels, yes 4,  for pre-k to 12th grade, and all the schools are within a short distance from each other, making school pick ups and drop offs for different age children a whole lot easier than in many other towns  To avoid any confusion, I should note that your child can use the school bus system if needed so this is for moms like like to do the school pick ups.

While I can't say much about the schools due to state restrictions. I can compile the school information for you, you will find it in our Weston buyers guide.

Another thing many of our clients like is that you get more home for the money in Weston, compared to Westport. One thing to keep in mind is that the taxes are noticeably higher in Weston, so you may want to factor this in when making a buying decision.

If you are thinking of moving to Weston, I would like to work with you. If you aren't ready to call us yet, check out the rest of our website: and grab one of the many guides, maps and checklists that we have created for you.
