If you are thinking about living in Weston CT, this article will give you an understanding of what Weston has to offer, as well as some tips for exploring the area. We’ll dive into the schools, show you the neighborhoods and village areas, as well as the major amenities that many people fall in love with.

Hi, if you are new here my name is Charlie Vinci and I am a local realtor. My family has been in the area for 5 generations and my YouTube channel is about showing you everything that Connecticut's Gold Coast has to offer. You can get the supplemental items that accompany this video right here.

Table of Contents

Proximity to Westport & Weston Village Area

Let's start in South Weston. While some people might identify homes above this line as south Weston, our clients have felt that this line is more appropriate. I should point out that most of our clients like South Weston for its easy proximity to the town area of Westport and the Merritt parkway.

In our experience, access to Westport amenities is driving our clients desire to be in the southern part of town. If you want to learn more about what Westport has to offer, check out our Westport neighborhood tour

They also appreciate the easy access to the small Weston Village area. This small complex has just about everything you will need on a daily basis including a  pharmacy, gym, dry cleaners, gas station, liquor store, grocery store, bank, and post office

Weston Schools

Not far from the village area you will find the school complex. Weston has 4 school levels. Hurlbutt Elementary is for Pre-K through 2nd grade, Weston Intermediate is for 3rd through 5th grade, Weston Middle is for 6th through 8th grade and Weston High is for 9th through 12th grade.

Due to limitations imposed by the state, I can't say much about the schools, but I can compile the information for you so you can make a good decision for your family. I have done that in our Weston Buyers guide, you can find it, as well as tons of other useful information about Weston at the link on the screen.

Weston Parks

After you pick the kids up from school, you may want to head over to Bisceglie Park, and allow the kids to burn off some steam. It has baseball fields, walking trails and a playground.

If south Weston seems like an area that's for you, you can use Bisceglie park as a good reference for the northernmost boundary of the south Weston neighborhood as seen on our map. Oh, by the way, you can also grab this map right here. It should serve as a useful tool when exploring the area.

There is also Keene Park in the southern part of town, it has a small playground and hiking trail, but remains mostly undeveloped at this point.

If you have active kids, and happen to live in the northern part of town, you don't have to drive to the fields at Bisceglie park, because you have Morehouse Farm park with its soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and gazebos which make a great place for a picnic.

Country Clubs & Hiking

Next, let's hop over to the northern part of town now and take a look at the Aspetuck Valley Country Club. When you come to explore, be sure to drive Old Redding Road, which is a public road, through the Country Club. It's a very beautiful course and worth the drive. In addition to the golf course which is a par 71 with a slope of 132 from the black tee, the family oriented club has tennis courts available year round, a pool with their own swim, dive, and water polo teams, a summer camp, and restaurant for members. In case you are wondering, membership is by sponsor.

Speaking of exploring the area, if you are coming from out of town and need a place to stay, there aren't any hotels in town, but our clients have loved the Delamar, which is in Southport. Before you come, you may also want to watch our Weston Pro and cons video.

In the northern part of town you will find two more neighborhoods. First, let's explore the neighborhood of Devils Den. Located adjacent to the Devil's Den Nature Preserve, the Weston CT Real Estate in this area is sought after for its tranquilness and beauty.

The Devil's Den nature preserve consists of more than 1700 acres and is the largest preserve in the Gold Coast, and is one of the largest in the NY metro area. This park is beautiful and an absolute Wildlife oasis, which is excellent for hiking and bird watching.

Don't confuse Devils Den with Devils Glen, yeah I know, why would you name another park with a nearly the same name?! I probably wasn't alive when it happened so don't blame me! Devils Glen is a much smaller park and probably just a drive by if you are exploring the area. Parking is difficult, so a drive by works best for Devils Glen.

Beautiful Scenery

If you love tennis, you may also want to explore the Weston Racquet Club. It’s owned by tennis legend E-Vaan Len-del and has a variety of indoor and outdoor courts. Its instructors offer programs for adults and juniors of all levels. No sponsor is required at this time.

If you are visiting the area, another nice drive is along Valley Forge Rd. It gives you a sense of the topography in town, as well as the Saugatuck reservoir.  It's a beautiful drive any time of year and really conveys the peace and serenity that Weston is so well known for.

Georgetown Village

In the north west part of town you have another neighborhood, Georgetown. You will find it just to the west of Devil's Den preserve and it hosts another great village area to expand your options.

The Georgetown village area adds another larger grocery store, a few fitness options, a pharmacy, a liquor store, and several highly rated restaurants, including Italian, BBQ, Mexican, and more, to the list of amenities within easy access.
